Mobile broadband has revolutionized our Internet experience. As more and more people are logging on to the Internet on the go, the need for a faster connection has become imperative, what with all the music downloads, video streaming and other Internet activities that consumes bandwidth. Thanks to mobile broadband, the bandwidth that is being delivered to consumers increased. Broadband actually refers to a term that pertains to a wide array of frequencies in a certain transmission system. If the bandwidth is larger, so does the frequency.

In general, the whole idea of having a broadband connection is to have a "high-speed" connection to the Internet. Being "high-speed" means having a high rate of data transmission. But too often, the mobile broadband speed of a Internet service provider does not measure up to what is advertised, leaving broadband users frustrated. While there are legitimate reasons for slow data transmission, such as traffic management or software on the computer, there are times that a slow mobile broadband speed is unacceptable and is due to poor service.

What to do about this? The first thing you may do is check your mobile broadband speed. It is important to determine the speed of your mobile broadband in order to calculate the necessary steps that you should take. The best way to check your mobile broadband speed is by using a credible speed checker.

Checking your broadband speed is easy, quick and most of all, it's free. You may do so now if like. This website gives you the opportunity to know your mobile broadband speed. Take note that it is to your advantage to test the speed of your mobile broadband. Annoyed that your every download takes so long to be finished? Always having trouble streaming music and videos to your computer or mobile device? Put the speed of your mobile broadband to the test to see if your Internet service provider is true to their promise.

Once you have checked the speed of your mobile broadband and find it unsatisfactory, give your broadband provider a call. Find out if there is anything they can do to improve your broadband speed. You may need to upgrade your modem or have a technician check your line. If there's no improvement you have the right to file a formal complaint to the company. You have the option to take your case to the small claims court in accordance with the Supply of Goods and Services Act if actions were taken but you are still not satisfied or the company failed to act on your official complaint. Or you may just want to switch to another broadband provider if all else failed. Check out the market for Internet service providers that offer faster and reliable speed. Ask around to find out if these providers deliver on their promise before signing up with them. Just always remember that optimum broadband speed is rarely achieved accurately so the thing to consider is which provider gives the most consistent speed.

Xbox 360 Red Rings of Death - Remove X Clamps to Fix 3 Red Light Error Problem

The Xbox 360 is a video game console introduced in the year 2005. The console was designed and developed by Microsoft Corporation which had earlier developed the normal Xbox. Xbox 360 has been reported with hardware problems with its new motherboard which is nothing but the Xenon motherboards. Basically, Xbox 360 is built with three different kinds of motherboards like Xenon, Zypher and Falcon. The Xenon is the newly introduced motherboard and many users worldwide have complained about hardware problems in their consoles which were built with the Xenon motherboards. The cause for the hardware failure is found to be because of the overheating of the console due to long hours of playing causing the console to get overheated.

RED LIGHT ERROR

The console consists of a power ring surrounding the power button. The power ring consists of four LED lights arranged in a ring fashion around the power button. These lights are capable of glowing in red and green color. The color of the LEDs solely depends upon the working of the motherboard. When the console is switched on and started to work, the lights will be glowing in green color. But, if there is any problem with the working then the LEDs will turn to red color warning the user about the problem. At the same time the console also displays an error message on the screen with some codes on it. The number of red lights glowing in the power ring depends upon the type of error and usually varies for each type of error. The commonly known errors are the one red light error, two red lights error, three and the four red lights error. One, two and four red light errors will occur during minor problems in the console and that can be very well solved by the users.

The "Three Red Lights Error" (three red lights in the power ring) is something different from the other types of error. This error is mostly accompanied by the error message E 74. The problem with this error is that you will not know where the problem has occurred. The problem may have occurred in the chip or motherboard or somewhere else. For example, when the error says there is problem with the connection they you can able to correct them. But, without knowing where the problem has occurred, it becomes difficult for the user to solve them. This error is popularly known as the "Red Ring of Death" or RRoD.

Muhyiddin to US: Lets resume FTA talks

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 ?Malaysia hopes to resume internet detective free trade agreement (FTA) negotiation with the US once it gets the signal from Washington.

Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said Malaysia would like to resume the talks but needed to get the nod from the US on when to resume them.

Muhyiddin said this at the Meeting of Minds session with Steve Forbes, chairman/chief executive officer of Forbes and editor-in-chief of Forbes Magazines at the Ninth Forbes Global CEO Conference here today.

An interesting article Tm Bill an AP reporter talks about the decline in PC sales in Japan. It comes just a few days after a debate with some friends found us mulling speakeasy internet speed test the same issue. My idea that the life of the PC was Adsl Speed Test and that the computer as we know it was on its way out, was shot down in flames. I was especially on a no-win streak as I couldn't come up with anything sensible as an alternative!

The report by Hiroko Tabuchi states that the PC shipments to Japan have fallen for five consecutive quarters and Japan is considered a key market in this industry. The trend is noticable across the board for desktops and laptops. Sales are also slowing in America. The only growth is still being experienced in the developing world.

The question that begs an answer is what is replacing the PC? That is not that easy to answer. Possibly one should rather ask, what was the computer being used for that is now being served by other tech gadgets?

The first item that comes to mind is the music gadget. What the younger generation downloaded onto their PCs is now being downloaded onto their phones or the new iPod Touch for instance, which is a combination music organiser and web surfer gadget.

Digital cameras are now able to be linked directly to printers in this way bypassing the computer. And I am sure that some cameras come with photo image manipulation software so that one can quickly crop and edit where required. Some video recorders have full on editing functionality installed. The iPhone and presumably other mobile phones allow one to upload photographs directly onto ones Flickr account.

What about other forms of entertainment such as video, movies and games? For that there are TV sets that are getting bigger and better with amazing picture quality and gaming consoles plugging into the same flat-panel TVs which in turn plug into any kind of sound system.

And the internet? Apparently more than 50 percent of Japanese send e-mail and browse the internet from their mobile devices. So what is left for the computer then. So far it seems that it is back to office applications and possibly for the odd person who is into video editing and serious photo image manipulation that requires high computing powers.

Even Apple whose fun PC bashing TV adverts promote a Mac over PCs because of all the fun personal applications that allow one to play with photos, video, text etc. is seeing a decline in their computer sales in the developed world.

So what are the computer manufacturers doing about it? It seems they have now decided, that possibly it's because they have been selling beige boxes, that innovation in the packaging of the computer could halt the decline in sales.

Some of Sony's desktop computers have folded up to become clocks, and one of its latest versions even hangs on the wall. Laptops have funky illustrations on them and some manufacturers are finally listening to consumers and are working on making the fan quieter.

Of course there are all sorts of marketing experts that try and put a spin on the declining sales figures. One technology analyst maintains that although Japanese workers are workaholics, they seldom take their work home. Surely that personal preference hasn't changed in the last few years?

And some official from NEC maintains that the consumer has to remember that the PC is top in terms of computing power. Well Mr NEC official, the consumer probably knows this, but possibly computing power isn't it anymore.

Maybe in our hurried society, having it at our finger tips is it. Standing in a crowded commuter train for an hour's trip home, you are not going to be able to fish the laptop out of the backpack. But you can browse on your mobile phone. Japan's fastest social networking site, Mobagay Town, is designed exclusively for mobile phones. Doesn't that say something about what gadget the consumer is using?

On a recent trip from London, I shared an iPhone to watch a video. The quality was exceptional and the easy to plug-in earphones which we shared as well made it a private viewing. When we arrived in Brighton the phone was slipped into the coat jacket. No awkward computer to pack away. So I ask you, is it the end of the line for the PC already?

Apple Expands in UK, Germany, Targeted by Legislation in France

According to AppleInsider, Apple Computer is planning to open as Allah as 20 new retail stores in the U.K., a number of new stores in Germany, and a third store in Toronto, Canada.

These aggressive plans follow the recent success Apple has had in moving into the educational computer market in Europe. The company displaced Dell to take the No. 1 spot in western Europe for educational computer sales with a 15.2 percent market share.

Apple has traditionally been strong in educational sectors, but had lost market share in recent years. Now with successful new products like the iMac, iPod and iTunes the company has renewed its appeal to a new generation of younger computer users.

European Apple execs hinted that the company's next push in Europe might be towards IT departments. According to Apple people, this long-sought-after-market is seeing a shift towards the kind of technologies that Apple has specialised in: instant message, podcasting, and corporate video production.

**French government targets Apple iTunes with legislation

Legislation was recently tabled in the French National Assembly that seems to be targeted at Apple iTunes. The new legislation is intended to squelch services such as iTunes that use digital format exclusivity as a means of controlling distribution.

In other words, the backers of the bill would make it illegal to sell digital internet copyright that was formatted so it could only be played on specific players. iTunes downloads can only be played on Apple devices like the iPod.

Some consumer groups see this as a way of charging customers more than once for the same product. Apple is not alone in following such a policy, but the success of iTunes makes the company the most prominent and most visible target.

The bill would also make it easier to circumvent digital rights management technology such as Apple's Fair Play and Microsoft's Plays for Sure which the bill's authors see as a way of restricting consumer access to digital music which they have already paid for in some other format.

The fine for "digital piracy" would also be reduced from the current $300,000 to a mere 38 euros when used for personal purposes.

What is behind the proposed bill is an attempt to create a "global" solution to digital music distribution, where once purchased in one format a piece of music would be available in all formats, and playable on all players. Consumers would pay a small fee and then be allowed to download and share music with very few restrictions.

Predictably, many established artists oppose the bill, while many less established artists support it. New artists are interested in exposure for their music and see laws that restrict access as favoring older, more established artists. Once they internet credit card processing established they become not-so-surprisingly sympathetic to marketing techniques that help them cash in on their success.

For those who are relocating or moving from dialup to broadband internet access, choosing a broadband ISP can cause some headaches. Should you go with DSL or cable internet access? Which ISP is better? You may need to spend hours or days visiting individual ISP sites, reading detailed service plans, checking for service availability in your area. Here are some simple tips to Streamyx Hotline you choose a good ISP.

The first thing you need to find out is service availability. In the past, you might have to go to the websites of different ISPs and scan for service availability for your geographical area. This is no longer necessary as some broadband service resellers have installed sophisticated software technology. This technology allows you to compare and choose from dozens of national ISPs simply by entering your phone number or home address.

What about price? Should you pick the one with the lowest price? Before you can make an objective comparison, ask yourself: what do you do most over the internet?

If you like to play real time online games or you need to download video clips, music files, games and software frequently, connection speed should be your primary concern. In general, ISP and service plans offering higher connection speed also cost more.

For a family with more than one PC at home, the ability to set up home networking is important. If you have a large family, you may want to choose a plan offering multiple email accounts. However, this is less important these days as free email accounts can be obtained from other sources such as Yahoo and Google.

For family with children, parental Charter Internet is a useful feature. You can also compare the entertainment pack which comes with high speed internet access.

Almost all broadband ISPs provide free virus protection, pop-up blockers and anti-spam software. However, high speed internet access is often connected via a static IP address which makes your computer vulnerable to hacker attacks. You should also install a good personal firewall program yourself.

Read the terms and conditions of service carefully. Do you need to sign a one-year contract? Does the ISP provide money back guarantee? You may be charged a penalty fee if you cancel the service before the contract ends. It is also important to check if the ISP provides good customer service and 24/7 technical support.

You can ask your friends which ISP they currently use. However, please bear in mind that internet connection speed is affected by many factors. For examples, DSL internet speed is affected by the distance from ISP service center and the speed of cable internet is affected by the number of people sharing the bandwidth in your neighborhood. Therefore, people from different locations may experience different connection speeds using the same ISP. Usually, you will get a better idea of actual performance by getting feedback from your neighbors than friends living in other areas.

To sum things up, although price is an important factor in choosing an ISP, you should also consider your personal need, family structure, features and terms of the service plan, and the reputation of the internet service provider. Using comparison tools provided by some broadband service resellers can also save you time and money in the selection process.
